European Commission Honours Irish Scientist

Dr Shane Bergin, Investigator at Trinity College Dublin’s School of Physics and nanoscience institute, CRANN, has today been awarded the European Commission’s Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions (MSCA) achievement award.  The award recognises Dr. Bergin’s contribution to communicating science in a fun and attractive way and mentoring the next generation in science.

Professor Nicolosi receives PIYRA award

On March 28th, President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, received three recipients of the Science Foundation Ireland, President of Ireland Young Researcher Award (PIYRA) at Áras an Uachtaráin. Professor Valeria Nicolosi from AMBER, based in the CRANN Institute, and Trinity College Dublin’s Schools of Physics and Chemistry was presented with the prestigious accolade which acknowledges cutting-edge research in fields considered critical to Ireland’s economic and social prosperity.
