CRANN Scientist Awarded Prestigious ‘Women in Science’ Fellowship

An eminent female Investigator, at the Science Foundation Ireland funded nanoscience institute CRANN, Dr. Silvia Giordani, has been awarded the 2012 L’Oréal-UNESCO UK & Ireland for Women in Science Fellowship. The award was made at the Royal Society London, late last week.

Nobel Laureate Scientists & Pulitzer Prize Winners to judge STAGE

As one of the main City of Science 2012 events, Dublin will host a special performance of the winning play of the STAGE International Script Competition for the best new play about science and technology.

A world class panel of judges including Pulitzer, Tony and Emmy award winners and Nobel Laureate scientists will select the best play from a shortlist of three scripts. The winner will be announced in July. A few months later, in October, the winning playwright will be awarded a $10,000 cash prize and their play will have a staged reading with professional Irish actors at the Samuel Beckett Theatre at Trinity College Dublin.
